Nan Griffiths, is a Professor Emeritus at Carleton University where she taught architecture and urban history. She will speak about the role of architecture in the public realm in the social and economic life of the contemporary city: a skip through Barcelona, London and Ottawa

City-Building: Looking Beyond Traditional Roots

Michel Frojmovic, of Acadia Consulting & Research will focus on the importance of the public realm in Ottawa’s neighbourhoods: images of public space design from in Ottawa and other countries. Special focus on the important role played by urban planners and designers in supporting a neighbourhood-scale vision of the public realm that shapes and drives residential and commercial intensification.
